Privacy Policy

Effective August 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how soonlit collects, uses, and protects information when you visit soonlit.com or request a release alert.

The short version

You do not need an account to use soonlit.

If you choose "Notify me" on a product page, we collect your email address and the release you want to follow. We use that information to confirm your request, send the alerts you selected, and let you unsubscribe.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising, and we do not send unrelated marketing messages through release-alert subscriptions.

Our hosting, database, and email providers process limited information as necessary to operate the service, deliver alerts, maintain security, and prevent abuse.

Information we collect

Release-alert information

When you request a release alert, we may collect and store:

  • The email address you provide
  • The product or release you chose to follow
  • The status of your subscription, including whether and when it was confirmed or unsubscribed
  • Technical records needed to process the request, prevent abuse, and deliver the email

You do not need to provide a name, create an account, or choose a password.

Corrections and other submissions

Product pages include a "report a problem" form. When you submit one, we store only the product you were viewing and the message you typed. The form does not ask for your name or email address, and we do not attach one to your report.

Your IP address is used at the moment of submission to enforce a rate limit (a small number of reports per hour) and is held only for that short window. It is not stored alongside your report.

We use submissions to investigate the issue, correct the site, and keep an internal record of what was reported. Reports are not published on the site. Because there's no way for us to reply to an anonymous report, please use contact@soonlit.com if you want a response — and please don't include sensitive personal information in either.

Website and technical information

When you visit soonlit, our infrastructure providers may automatically process standard technical information such as:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser and device information
  • Requested pages or URLs
  • Request dates and timestamps
  • Security, diagnostic, and delivery information

This information is used to serve the website, maintain reliability, diagnose problems, measure basic service performance, and protect soonlit from spam, fraud, and other abuse.

Email-delivery information

Our email provider may process delivery records such as whether an email was delivered, bounced, rejected, or marked as spam. Depending on the features we enable, it may also process interactions such as opens or link clicks.

We use this information only to operate and troubleshoot release alerts, protect the service from abuse, and avoid repeatedly sending messages to invalid or unsubscribed addresses.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Confirm that you control the email address submitted for an alert
  • Activate and manage the release alerts you request
  • Send notifications connected to those alerts
  • Process unsubscribe and deletion requests
  • Maintain records needed to honor your communication preferences
  • Diagnose delivery or technical problems
  • Protect soonlit and its users from misuse
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

A release alert consists of a confirmation email, and then up to two reminders for the date you're following: one the day before, and one on the day itself. We do not send an email every time a date changes, and we do not use an alert subscription to send unrelated promotional emails unless you separately choose to receive them.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on your consent to send requested alerts. We may also process limited technical information where necessary to operate, secure, and improve the reliability of the service or to comply with the law. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing.

Confirmation and unsubscribing

Release alerts use a double opt-in process. After submitting an email address, you must use the confirmation link we send before the alert becomes active.

Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link, and no account or login is required. Unsubscribing stops future emails for that subscription.

We may retain a limited suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we can honor your request and avoid sending the same subscription again by mistake. You may ask us to delete your information completely, subject to any limited records we must retain for legal, security, or compliance purposes.

How long we keep information

We retain active subscription information for as long as it is needed to provide the requested alert.

After an alert ends or is unsubscribed, we retain related information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Honor your unsubscribe choice
  • Resolve email-delivery or technical problems
  • Prevent abuse
  • Meet applicable legal obligations

Technical and security logs are retained according to the operational settings and retention practices of soonlit and its service providers.

If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify the information we control unless we are required or permitted to retain a limited record for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or unsubscribe-compliance purposes.

Service providers

We use a limited number of service providers to operate soonlit:

  • Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, network security, and website endpoints.
  • Supabase provides database infrastructure used to store and manage release-alert subscriptions.
  • Resend delivers release-alert emails and processes associated delivery records.
  • Google Analytics processes basic visit information (such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device/browser type) to help us understand overall site traffic.

These providers process information according to their agreements with us and their own privacy and security terms. They may use approved subprocessors where necessary to provide their services.

We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, security, and integrity of soonlit, its users, or others.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

International processing

soonlit and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

Where required, our providers use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual data-protection commitments or approved transfer mechanisms.

Cookies and tracking

soonlit does not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking.

Cloudflare or other essential infrastructure may use cookies or similar technologies when necessary for security, traffic management, fraud prevention, or basic site functionality. These technologies are not used by soonlit to build advertising profiles about visitors.

soonlit uses Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic — for example, how many people visit, which pages are popular, and roughly where visitors are coming from. Google Analytics may set cookies and process your IP address and device/browser information for this purpose. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site; we do not use it to identify you personally, and we have not enabled Google's advertising-linked features (such as Google Signals) for this property. You can control or block Google Analytics using your browser's cookie settings, a browser extension, or Google's own opt-out tools.

If we introduce advertising or other nonessential tracking beyond what's described above, we will update this policy and provide any additional notice or consent controls required by law before that tracking is enabled.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect the information we handle. These include restricted system access and database access controls.

No method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you
  • Request a copy of that information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent
  • Request a portable copy of information you provided
  • Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request
  • Submit a complaint to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live

You will not be discriminated against for exercising an applicable privacy right.

To make a request, email contact@soonlit.com. We may need to verify that you control the email address involved before fulfilling the request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Children's privacy

soonlit is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information to soonlit, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as soonlit develops or legal requirements change. When we do, we will post the revised policy and update its effective date.

If a change materially affects how we use information already collected from you, we will provide any additional notice or obtain any consent required by applicable law.
