The new cover deliberately keeps the back of Gregg Hammerquist's head from the original 2002 edition. This time, the words surrounding him have become binary code, backed by an electric palette and a much bolder title treatment. Printed page edges carry the novel's memorable first line, turning the physical book itself into part of the anniversary design.

Consumer Culture Was Always the Target

Anderson conceived the feed as an extension of advertising already lodged in people's minds, rather than a literal forecast of one specific device. The novel's ideas about algorithmic influence, self-marketing, and identity now meet readers in a culture much closer to the one it satirized. Yet the relationship between Titus and Violet keeps the book from becoming a technology lecture; their choices give its critique emotional weight.
