Sony is preparing another Xperia announcement following the Xperia 1 VIII’s May launch and strong demand in Japan. The company has confirmed the event but not the product, leaving the next device’s identity as the central question heading into the livestream.

The Xperia 10 VIII Is the Leading Candidate

An Xperia 10 VIII recently appeared in US regulatory filings, a strong sign that the phone is approaching release. If that is the device Sony reveals, it will retain the increasingly rare 3.5mm headphone jack alongside Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6.

The filing also identifies support for LTE bands 4, 5, 12, and 41. It does not provide the screen, processor, cameras, battery, price, or launch markets, so the event still has most of the phone’s practical story left to tell.

A Headphone Jack Still Means Something Here

Sony’s mobile line continues to appeal to buyers who value hardware choices many rivals have removed. Keeping wired audio on the probable Xperia 10 VIII would reinforce that identity, particularly in a category where adapters and wireless earbuds have become the default expectation.

The stream begins August 25 at 11 a.m. in Japan, or August 24 at 10 p.m. Eastern in the United States. Until then, Xperia 10 VIII remains the most likely answer—not a confirmed name.
