The Monarch Trades Leather for Suede

Nike is giving the Air Monarch a softer finish without sanding down the bulky trainer that made it famous. Suede replaces the model's usual leather across most of the upper, adding a warmer texture to the familiar layered panels. The shape itself stays intact, so the material change remains the whole point rather than the start of a dramatic redesign.

Cacao Wow Goes Tonal

The Cacao Wow pair runs brown from its suede upper through the midsole, letting the Gum Medium Brown outsole complete an almost continuous earthy palette. Tonal stitching and a matching Swoosh keep the overlays visible through texture instead of sharp color breaks. It is the quieter of the two colorways, with the Monarch's volume doing more visual work than contrast.

Black Finds Its Contrast Underfoot

The Black version darkens the upper and midsole, then uses the same gum outsole as a clean dividing line along the bottom. Both shoes retain the Monarch's mesh tongue, layered construction, and broad sole unit, but suede shifts the mood away from its standard white leather trainer identity. Each colorway is priced at $100 for the Holiday 2026 season, making this a straightforward seasonal update to one of Nike's most recognizable comfort-first silhouettes.
