Jack Sawyer Has One World-Spanning Job Left

Other Worlds Than These brings Jack Sawyer back for the final book in the trilogy that began with The Talisman and continued through Black House. He is older now, and his Ka-tet is beginning to come apart just as a new threat reaches across realities. The story asks him to stop infected teenagers on America-side and confront the mysterious Gullet at the edge of Mid-World before both forces destroy far more than his own world.

The Territories Lead Back to Mid-World

The finale makes the connection between the Territories and Stephen King's Dark Tower mythology central to the journey. That gives the book two endings to carry at once: the resolution of Jack's decades-long story and a reckoning with the fate of the worlds tied to the Tower. It can still be approached as its own adventure, but longtime readers will recognize how much history is converging around Jack.

Peter Straub's Ideas Remain in the Journey

King developed the novel from material prepared with Peter Straub, his late collaborator on the first two books, and the finished work carries both authors' names. Gabriel Rodriguez adds exclusive black-and-white illustrations throughout the volume, giving the return to Jack's strange worlds a visual thread as well. Arriving October 6, it closes a series whose first installment appeared more than four decades earlier.
