The Fairphone Gen 6+ treats repairability as the feature, not an afterthought. Its rear panel opens after removing two screws, and a single T5 Torx driver is enough to swap the battery, display, cameras, USB-C port, and other parts that would be a repair-shop job on most phones.

Twelve Parts, Seven Years of Support

Fairphone sells 12 replacement components, from an $8 SIM tray to a $90 OLED screen assembly. The removable 4,415mAh battery is the headliner, but seven years of promised software updates may matter just as much if the goal is to keep one handset going for years.

Sensible Specs With a Different Priority

The $650 unlocked phone pairs a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a microSD slot. Its 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display can move between 10Hz and 120Hz, while the camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, 13-megapixel ultrawide, and 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Half of the device is made from recycled materials, and the Cobalt Blue option nods to Fairphone’s work supporting ethical cobalt mining. It is available directly in the US with support for T-Mobile and AT&T, finally making the company’s repair-first approach much easier to buy without importing or switching to a de-Googled operating system.
