The Merrell MOAB SPEED 2K METRO reshapes a trail-running foundation for everyday movement through the city. Its upper combines open mesh with synthetic and TPU reinforcement, keeping airflow present beneath the all-black layers. A lightweight underfoot shield helps absorb impacts without giving the shoe an overly armored feel.

FloatPro Keeps the Ride Responsive

Merrell uses FloatPro foam in the midsole, choosing a lighter and more responsive setup than the voluminous FloatMax cushioning on the sibling Cham Redux Ghost Metro. That difference gives the Moab a quicker character suited to longer days on foot. The low, forward-leaning shape also reads more like a modern trail runner than a cushioned lifestyle shoe.

Vibram Traction Stays in the Formula

A Vibram TC5+ outsole supplies grip across changing surfaces, preserving a practical part of the Moab identity. The rubber is useful for wet pavement, park paths, stairs, and other transitions that define an urban route. Blacking out the sole keeps that technical construction visually connected to the rest of the shoe.

Trail Hardware in a Nighttime Palette

The Metro Collection treats outdoor performance as a starting point, then removes the bright contrast often associated with it. Here, the mesh ventilation, protective structure, responsive foam, and Vibram base remain visible through shape and texture alone. The MOAB SPEED 2K METRO is priced around $140 and launches from Merrell on September 4.
