Sixteen Travelers Get a Sharper Journey

Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II are coming to Switch 2 as native editions, preserving the series' blend of pixel-art characters and three-dimensional environments. Each game follows eight protagonists with separate origins, ambitions, and personal abilities. The bundle offers both adventures together, while either title can still be bought on its own.

Path Actions Shape Life Outside Battle

Choosing a lead character changes more than the opening chapter. Travelers use individual Path Actions to question townspeople, recruit help, acquire items, or uncover information, and turn-based fights reward players for identifying weaknesses and breaking an enemy's defenses. The first game crosses Orsterra, while the sequel moves to Solistia with a new cast and a more developed version of the HD-2D style.

Better Performance Comes With a Clean Save

Both Switch 2 editions improve resolution and frame rate over their original Switch releases. Existing owners do not receive an upgrade path, however, and save data cannot move between the Switch and Switch 2 versions. That makes the October 1 release easiest to recommend to newcomers or anyone ready to begin again. It is a substantial pair of RPGs, but returning players should know that the new presentation requires a new purchase and a new journey.
