Salehe Bembury Gives the Velum a Second Skin

The Puma Velum 2 pushes Bembury's original model into a more layered, organic shape. Translucent mesh sits beneath amorphous overlays, creating a shoe that seems assembled from shifting membranes rather than ordinary sneaker panels. Fingerprint textures across the tongue make his hand in the design unmistakable.

NITROFOAM Fills the Sculpted Base

The exaggerated midsole is not only visual theater. Puma uses nitrogen-infused NITROFOAM for cushioning, putting a performance material beneath the collaboration's flowing surfaces. Reworked Puma lettering appears around the shoe, while Bembury's own wordmark lands on the outsole where it becomes part of the tread-level detail.

Terracotta Leads the Color Story

The first pair wraps the upper in warm Terracotta orange, and an Alloy version shifts to metallic silver. Both sit above bright yellow soles that expose the curves and grooves of the tooling. Blue and neon-yellow combinations are also planned, giving the model a louder future after the earthy opening round. Limited pairs arrive in a co-branded box covered with Bembury's fingerprint pattern.

The Velum 2 releases September 3 through Puma and selected stores. Its appeal lies in how confidently the design treats a running-inspired platform as sculpture, then backs the strange exterior with cushioning meant to be worn rather than merely displayed.
