Joe Musashi Draws His Katana Again

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance brings Lizardcube's hand-drawn 2D action game to Switch 2 after its original 2025 release. Joe Musashi returns to find his village destroyed and his clan turned to stone, sending him through military strongholds, burning valleys, and supernatural territory. The animated art gives every slash and leap a sharp sense of speed.

A Ninja Arsenal Built for Flow

Joe combines his katana with kunai, amulets, Ninpo, and Ninjutsu, chaining movement and attacks through platforming routes and enemy groups. The combat rewards momentum, but secrets and alternate paths also make careful exploration worthwhile. A later set of stages expands the boss lineup with familiar Sega villains, including Death Adder, Goro Majima, and Doctor Eggman.

Handheld Mode Gets the Visible Upgrade

The Switch 2 edition raises the resolution in handheld mode, the clearest improvement over the original Switch release. That upgrade matters for a game whose detailed backgrounds and fluid character animation are central to its appeal throughout. Preorders include Joe's original arcade outfit and the Fortune Hunter Amulet before the September 24 launch. It is the same revenge journey, now presented with a cleaner portable image on Nintendo's newer screen.
