StarCraft Leaves the Strategy Map

Blizzard's next StarCraft project is an open-world shooter planned for 2030. The shift puts players at ground level inside a universe usually commanded from above, trading base construction and army management for direct exploration and combat.

A Bloodied Marine Returns

The BlizzCon cinematic follows a Terran Dominion Space Marine as Arcturus Mengsk speaks about the Zerg. His armor comes back bloodied before being cleaned and prepared again, a grim image of the Dominion's ability to feed soldiers back into an endless war.

A New Genre With Familiar Weight

No gameplay footage, title, platforms, or detailed setting have been shown. The project is being led by former Far Cry producer Dan Hay, experience that fits the open-world direction, but its larger challenge will be making Terran machinery, Zerg terror, and StarCraft scale feel convincing from one soldier's view.
