Dolby Atmos Moves Onto the Gaming Desk

ROG Gjallar is ASUS's first dedicated gaming soundbar, and it is built for players who want spatial audio without wearing a headset. Up-firing channels give Dolby Atmos a vertical dimension, while separate tweeters and full-range drivers handle the highs and midrange. A slim 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer supplies 65 watts of low end over a dedicated 5GHz connection.

The Control Hub Handles Team Chat

An external hub turns the speaker system into a headset-free communication setup. Its microphones use acoustic echo cancellation and AI beamforming to cut background noise and loud game audio before teammates hear it. The hub's LCD also puts volume, input selection, and preset EQ profiles within easy reach.

One Cable Path Preserves 4K at 120Hz

HDMI 2.1 pass-through supports 4K video at 120Hz, so the soundbar can sit between a modern console or PC and its display without becoming a refresh-rate bottleneck. HDMI eARC, USB-C, optical, 3.5mm aux, and Bluetooth 5.3 cover the rest of the usual sources. Two side-mounted USB-A ports give wireless peripheral dongles a tidy place to live.

Aura Sync Completes the $600 Setup

Aura Sync lighting brings 16.8 million colors and preset effects to the chassis. Microphone settings and lighting can be adjusted through ASUS's Gear Link web portal or mobile app, avoiding another large desktop utility. Gjallar is expensive for a desktop speaker, but its price includes the subwoofer, communication hub, and the connections needed to move between PC and console play.
