Sanctuary Is Headed to Netflix

Blizzard and Netflix are developing an animated series set in the world of Diablo. The project brings the action-RPG's war between the High Heavens and Burning Hells to another screen, with Sanctuary's gothic ruins, demons, and doomed heroes offering rich material for animation.

A New Story Beyond the Games

Blizzard president Johanna Faries announced the partnership during BlizzCon 2026. The company has not attached a cast, creative team, trailer, or story outline yet, leaving open whether the series will adapt a familiar era or carve out a separate corner of Diablo history.

Darkness With Room to Expand

Diablo's setting has grown through games, novels, and extensive lore, so a series can spend more time with its people and conflicts than a cinematic between quests allows. For now, the important promise is simple: an animated trip into Sanctuary is officially in production at Netflix.
