Hoka's Clifton Utl turns one of the brand's most approachable running shoes into a dedicated lifestyle sneaker. It starts with the Clifton 8 platform, then replaces the usual engineered-mesh look with a structured exoskeleton upper. The result keeps the thick cushioning people recognize while giving the shoe a sharper, more technical identity for everyday wear.

A Grid Locks Down the Upper

Polyurethane forms a grid over the mesh base, with terraced shapes and angular lines pointing toward the heel. That rubbery framework adds more hold than exposed mesh, and a matching heel counter reinforces the back of the shoe. Underfoot, Hoka retains the Clifton 8's compression-molded EVA sole rather than redesigning a ride that already has a broad following among runners and walkers.

Cilantro Without the Bright Green

The launch colorway is called Cilantro, but its namesake shade appears sparingly on the outsole, insole, and lateral Hoka logo. Tonal gray covers most of the upper, while gray and cream soften the sole. The restrained mix lets the exoskeleton's geometry do more visual work than the color itself.

The Utl joins earlier lifestyle experiments such as the Clifton One9 and collaborations with Satisfy, Supervsn, and Atmos.
