The Pegasus Plus Puts Visible Air Up Front

Nike's Pegasus Plus 2 is a faster daily road trainer built around an exposed, curved Air Zoom unit in the forefoot. The visible chamber works with lightweight ZoomX foam to create a more propulsive toe-off, aiming for some race-day excitement without adding a carbon plate or limiting the shoe to competition.

A Roomier Shape Fixes the Fit

The revised silhouette curves more aggressively at the toe for added toe spring and gives the forefoot more room than the first Pegasus Plus. A streamlined mesh upper exposes the midfoot containment band, balancing airflow with a more secure hold. The men's version weighs about 9.3 ounces in a size 10 and keeps a 10mm heel-to-toe drop.

Waffle Traction Gets Sharper Edges

Nike has redrawn the Waffle outsole with a diagonal pattern, zoned sharp edges, and new flex grooves. The changes are intended to improve ground feel and let the forefoot move naturally around the Air unit. Reflective details add visibility, while the Flash Crimson launch color makes the shoe difficult to miss in daylight.

The Pegasus Plus 2 releases September 3 for $170. It sits between Nike's dependable regular Pegasus and its dedicated racing shoes, built for runners who want to handle tempo sessions, intervals, and ordinary mileage in the same pair.
