Samsung's Odyssey OLED G9 G95SJ stretches a fifth-generation Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel across a 49-inch super-ultrawide frame. At its native 5120 x 1440 resolution, the display runs at 360Hz, combining a wide racing-cockpit view with refresh speed that would normally belong to a much smaller esports monitor.

Dual Mode Trades Pixels for 720Hz

Players chasing the highest frame rate can switch the panel to 2560 x 720 and double the refresh rate to 720Hz. That gives the G9 two distinct jobs: a sharp, expansive screen for immersive games and a lower-resolution speed mode for titles where motion clarity matters more than desktop space.

Penta Tandem Pushes Brightness and Longevity

The new panel structure reaches a claimed peak brightness of 1,300 nits while improving efficiency by as much as 1.3 times. Samsung also says it doubles overall panel life, an especially meaningful change for an OLED monitor likely to spend long hours showing game interfaces and desktop windows.

Text Gets a Cleaner Pixel Layout

An RGB-stripe subpixel arrangement is meant to improve text clarity, addressing a common weakness of some OLED desktop displays.
