Two Intakes Reach the Front Burners

Samsung's new over-the-range microwave adds a second air intake to tackle a familiar weak spot in this space-saving appliance style. One intake sits underneath the microwave, while another opens across the front to cover the cooktop's forward burners. Samsung says the DualVent system captured up to 82 percent of cooking fumes in a controlled chamber test, putting its performance in the range of the company's standalone hoods under the same conditions.

Vent Blades That Put Themselves Away

The front intake does not need to be pulled out by hand. A tap on the LED-lit control panel opens its redesigned blades, and switching ventilation off closes them automatically. The microwave keeps the broad cooking coverage available when needed without leaving extra hardware projecting into the kitchen afterward.

The Cooktop Can Cue the Microwave

Auto Connectivity lets the microwave work with compatible Wi-Fi-enabled Samsung cooktops and ranges. Once both appliances are connected to Wi-Fi and registered in SmartThings, one-touch controls can operate the cooktop and over-the-range microwave together. The ventilation fan can also override that link and start for safety when the bottom of the microwave becomes hot.

A Cleaner Fit for North American Kitchens

The appliance combines cooking and ventilation in the space above the range, preserving cabinet and wall area that a separate hood would occupy. A fingerprint-resistant finish helps keep the exterior tidy between cleanings. Samsung plans to introduce the DualVent microwave in the United States and Canada beginning in September 2026, with final ventilation results depending on installation, ducting, cooking method, and the kitchen environment.
