A Gundam Story After the Apocalypse

Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO begins in a future where humanity fought an enemy called the Apocalypse to a standstill in orbit, then abandoned Earth. By A.A. 45, children on the Moon and in space colonies know the old planet only through history. The story follows Ray Azumi, a boy who awakens on the lunar surface and is pulled into a conflict shaped by everything his generation never experienced.

Kenji Kamiyama Leads the New Timeline

Kenji Kamiyama directs and handles series composition, with Sola Animation producing. The creative team includes science-fiction writer Toh Enjoe, Gundam designer Eiichi Shimizu, character designers STATO and Miyako Takasu, and composer Go Shiina. Original Gundam creators Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hajime Yatate are credited for the underlying concept.

Anime and Game Share an Orbit

XARX-ZERO is part of the wider RG Project, sharing a setting with the Gundam Rogue Orbit game while taking place much earlier in that timeline. That connection gives the anime room to establish the history behind the game's world without simply retelling it. The series arrives in April 2027, with Gunpla and other merchandise planned alongside it, making this a coordinated launch for viewers, players, and model builders.
