The Roomba Plus 678 Combo introduces a two-stage hot-mopping process to iRobot's lineup. SprayForce AI first applies a targeted, high-pressure spray to loosen stubborn spots. A PowerSpin roller follows with water heated to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and 15 newtons of downward pressure, giving the robot a deliberate pre-treat-and-scrub routine rather than relying on a single damp pass.

Built for Hair, Carpet, and Hard Floors

SealForce concentrates suction against carpet, where iRobot claims cleaning up to three times deeper than before. A multi-surface bristle brush cuts collected hair to reduce tangles, and the edge brush is designed to resist wrapping as well. When the robot moves onto carpet, the mop lifts 10 millimeters to prevent wet contact.

Smarter Coverage Around the Room

ClearView Pro lidar handles mapping and route planning, while PrecisionVision AI identifies objects that should be avoided. PerfectEdge can extend the mop and side brush by 45 millimeters, helping the Plus 678 reach along baseboards and into corners. The system brings several of iRobot's higher-end navigation ideas to a less expensive model.

Hot Washing Continues at the Dock

After cleaning, the AutoWash dock soaks the roller at up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit, washes it, and dries it with 131-degree air. The dock also empties debris, refills the robot, dispenses detergent, and cleans its own wash area. It can hold up to 90 days of collected dirt. The Roomba Plus 678 Combo is priced at $899.99 and is due to ship in about two weeks.
