A Wet Cleaner With a Pencil-Thin Handle

The Dyson W1 PencilWash takes the narrow, straight-bodied idea of the PencilVac and applies it to hard-floor washing. Its handle measures about 1.5 inches across, and the complete machine weighs a little over two kilograms. The slim body can lie almost flat, helping it reach beneath low furniture where bulkier wet cleaners struggle.

Wet and Dry Mess Leave Together

A high-density microfiber roller collects spills, stains, and dry debris in one pass. Dyson supplies only fresh water to the floor, which helps the surface dry quickly after cleaning. The machine avoids a traditional filter, reducing the places where dirty moisture and odors can linger between uses.

Small Homes Get the Biggest Benefit

The same dimensions that help under a sofa also make the PencilWash easier to store in a tight closet or apartment. Battery information appears on a small display above the controls, and the handle slots into a charging dock when the job is finished. Its light body should also be easier to maneuver around table legs and narrow gaps.

A Straightforward Addition to Dyson's Floor Line

PencilWash is focused on quick hard-floor care rather than replacing a carpet vacuum or a fully automated robot. The design strips away much of the bulk associated with combined wet cleaners while preserving a dedicated roller and separate clean-water delivery. It costs $349 and is scheduled for fall 2026.
