Burton's Batmobile Finally Gets the Full Build

LEGO is recreating the Batmobile from 1992's Batman Returns as a 2,269-piece display model. The long body, front intake, opening canopy, detailed cockpit, and turbine-like rear preserve the unusual silhouette that made Tim Burton's version instantly recognizable. This is the first LEGO set devoted specifically to the film's second Batmobile iteration.

One Button Reveals the Batmissile

The model's centerpiece is a transformation function based on the movie's escape sequence. Pressing a button releases the side panels and exposes the narrow Batmissile hidden inside, using a lift-arm mechanism to reproduce the change. Builders can display the car in either form instead of choosing a permanently fixed configuration.

Six Secrets Hide in the Bodywork

LEGO tucked six movie references into the finished vehicle, including the Penguin's tracking device. Three new elements were developed for the Batmobile and Batmissile, giving the designers pieces tailored to this particular shape. The set also includes an exclusive Batman minifigure with a new cowl and molded cape, plus a stand carrying the Batman Returns logo.

Insiders Get the First Drive

LEGO Insiders can purchase set 76355 on September 1, 2026 through LEGO stores and the company's website. General availability follows on September 4 at $229.99. The price and scale place it firmly in the adult display range, but the working transformation gives the finished model more purpose than a static shelf piece.
