The Original Enterprise, Seen From the Inside

This 1,701-piece LEGO Icons set recreates the bridge and transporter room of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 from the original Star Trek series. The piece count itself nods to the ship's registry, while the build moves indoors after LEGO's earlier model of the Enterprise-D exterior. Computer stations, the central viewscreen, and a Klingon warrior on screen set up the command deck for a classic encounter.

Three Ways to Make the Ship React

The completed bridge has more going on than a static display. Rocking Captain Kirk's chair suggests turbulence or battle damage, a dial moves crew members between transporter pads, and a lever opens the turbolift doors. The bridge and transporter-room sections are modular, so they can be arranged to suit a shelf or desk.

Eight Officers Report for Duty

Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Sulu, McCoy, Chekov, Chapel, and Scotty all appear as new minifigures. Their equipment includes communicators, phasers, Spock's harp, Vulcan lirpas, and a Trident scanner. Four tribbles are tucked into the set too, giving the otherwise serious Starfleet lineup one delightfully troublesome detail.

At more than 22 inches wide, the finished bridge has enough scale for its stations and crew to read clearly. Its September arrival lands during Star Trek's 60th-anniversary month, making this less a miniature of the entire ship than a focused celebration of the room where its best-known missions began.
