The LEGO PlayStation recreates Sony's 1994 console and its original controller in 1,911 pieces. At 10.5 inches wide, the finished system is close to the real machine's scale rather than a small desk ornament. The controller plugs into the brick-built port, bringing the familiar setup ritual into the model.

Buttons That Still Invite a Press

The console's Power and Open buttons use working mechanisms instead of sitting as decorative tiles. Details around the shell echo the original vents, connectors, and memory-card area. It is a display set, but those tactile touches keep the build connected to how the hardware was actually used.

Two Games Are Hidden Inside

Removable dioramas celebrate Ape Escape and Gran Turismo, two games closely associated with the first PlayStation. The racing scene contains a miniature track and tiny cars, while the Ape Escape island lets builders swap the light on a monkey's helmet between blue and red. Either scene can be pulled out and displayed separately from the console.

A Brick-Built Anniversary Piece

The set condenses more than 30 years of PlayStation history into the gray machine where it began. At $179.99, it is clearly aimed at adult collectors who remember the hardware as much as the games. PlayStation Direct and LEGO Insiders get access on October 1, followed by a wider LEGO release on October 4.
