Mega Man: Dual Override keeps the classic side-scrolling challenge but smooths out how it feels in the hands. Slide now has its own button, checkpoints replace the old lives system, and retries return players to the action without erasing the difficulty of the stage itself.

Custom Chips Change the Opening Move

Before a level, players choose one of three Custom Chips. One produces a shield, another automatically charges the Mega Buster, and a third summons Rush Coil for extra height and distance. The choice lets players tune a stage around defense, firepower, or mobility before the first enemy appears.

Override Power Has a Cost

Attacking fills an Override meter that turns the Mega Buster into a rapid-fire weapon, especially useful against bosses. Drain it completely and Mega Man overheats, slowing his shots until he recovers. That push-your-luck mechanic adds a fresh decision to familiar precision platforming, and the World Fair-inspired stages keep the presentation playful. Dual Override launches next year on PS5.
