Survival Horror Takes Over a Flooded Arkham

The Sinking City 2 trades its predecessor’s open-world detective focus for a more dangerous semi-open survival-horror structure. Its standalone story unfolds after an unexplained flood overwhelms Arkham, driving out most of the population and leaving the remaining survivors trapped with the abominations that surfaced alongside the water.

Monsters Designed to Move Wrong

Frogwares has built its creatures around unsettling behavior as much as grotesque anatomy. Slither parasites gather into a hive mind and control corpses from within, jerking muscles imprecisely, dislocating shoulders, and gradually learning how to operate a human body as their colony develops.

Every Creature Changes the Fight

The other horrors demand different survival instincts. Stygian Harvesters use darkness, speed, and ambushes; Lethian Revenants avoid close combat and spit bacterial fluid from vertically split heads; and the massive six-limbed Acheronian Juggernaut returns with redesigned attacks intended to make it a far more punishing encounter.

Investigation has not disappeared, but it is now optional, rewarding curious players with knowledge, resources, and shortcuts through Arkham. Combat and exploration lead the experience this time, and no familiarity with the original game is required before stepping into the flood on PlayStation 5.
