The Civilian Jeep Gets a Modern Echo

The 2027 Wrangler JL-2A reaches back to the Willys CJ-2A, the 1945 model that adapted a military workhorse for farms, ranches, and everyday life. This Rubicon-based special edition carries that history through color and trim rather than changing the Wrangler's core off-road formula. It is the eleventh entry in Jeep's yearlong Twelve 4 Twelve series.

Sunset Red Reappears as Joose

Exclusive 17-inch wheels wear bright Joose orange paint, a reference to the original CJ-2A's Sunset Red wheels, and come wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. Orange tow hooks continue the theme, while Gobi paint on the two-door recalls Harvest Tan. The four-door is shown in olive-toned '41, with Bright White, Sting Gray, Ghost, and Joose also available.

A Cabin Built Around Willys Details

Inside, Heritage Tan Nappa leather meets Bison Brown panels and Desert Orange stitching in a combination new to the Wrangler. A Willys-Overland medallion marks the shifter, and the rear swing-gate plaque recreates the CJ-2A's dashboard data plate with farm and factory scenes. Remote start, an auto-dimming mirror, a garage-door opener, and a washable front TrailCam are standard.

Rubicon Hardware, Two Engine Choices

Buyers can choose the 285-hp 3.6-liter V6 or the 270-hp 2.0-liter turbo four. The JL-2A package adds $4,995 to a base 2027 Wrangler Rubicon, with orders opening in October.
