A Folding E-Bike You Can Actually Carry

The FLIT M2i weighs 13.3 kilograms, or 29.3 pounds, putting a fully equipped electric bike within practical carrying territory. It comes in 500 grams lighter than Brompton's Electric T Line and drops 1.2 kilograms from FLIT's standard M2. That difference matters most on station stairs, crowded platforms, and the final lift into a train luggage rack.

Bonded Aluminum Replaces the Welds

FLIT builds the M2i's custom aluminum frame in Cambridge using structural adhesives instead of conventional welding. Borrowed from aerospace and performance-car manufacturing, the process avoids welding heat that can distort metal and helps preserve alignment. It achieves the weight target without turning to a costly titanium frame.

Premium Parts Do More Than Save Grams

The upgrade list includes British-made Hope XCR Pro X2 hydraulic disc brakes, Goodyear Eagle F1 R tires, a fizik Vento Antares R3 saddle, TPU tubes, and a hollow-pin KMC chain. FLIT values those component changes at more than £875 over the M2. Integrated front and rear lights remain, and the folded bike can still roll on its own wheels.

Lighter Than Brompton at Half the Price

FLIT prices the M2i at £2,999, close to half the £5,799 cost of the lighter-build Brompton used for comparison. The bike's compact fold and retained commuter equipment make the low weight useful beyond a specification sheet. It is designed for riders who regularly combine cycling with trains and need the folding part of an e-bike to work every day.
