Electric Drive Without the Charging Stop

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid uses Nissan's third-generation e-POWER system, which takes a different route from a conventional hybrid. Its turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine generates electricity, while the wheels are driven only by electric motors. There is no mechanical connection between the gasoline engine and the wheels, so the Rogue can deliver the immediate response and smooth acceleration associated with an EV without needing to be plugged in.

A New Engine and Standard All-Wheel Drive

This is not the current Rogue's variable-compression engine repurposed for hybrid duty. Nissan developed a new 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder specifically for the system, pairing it with two electric motors and standard all-wheel drive. The company has not yet published total output, curb weight, or official fuel-economy estimates, leaving some of the most important comparisons for closer to launch.

Braking Tuned for Everyday Comfort

One-pedal driving can bring the Rogue Hybrid to a complete stop, making stop-and-go traffic easier to manage. Nissan is also using brake-by-wire controls with a "smooth stop" feature designed to reduce the head toss that can accompany abrupt final braking. Together, those details suggest the hybrid's electric character will be noticeable during ordinary driving, not just hard acceleration.

The First Look at a New Rogue

The e-POWER model will introduce the fourth-generation Rogue before the rest of the redesigned lineup arrives. Its combination of dual-motor traction, gasoline convenience, and EV-style operation gives Nissan a distinctive answer to established hybrid crossovers. The 2027 Rogue Hybrid is scheduled to reach U.S. dealers in November 2026.
