The NX Borrows Some Presence From the RX

Lexus is giving the current NX a mid-cycle refresh five years after the second generation arrived. The first glimpses show a restyled nose with an RX-like spindle grille, sportier lower intakes, and revised daytime running lights that extend farther into the fenders.

Familiar Proportions, Sharper Details

This is a focused update rather than a clean-sheet redesign. The side profile stays close to the existing crossover, while a new green paint color and dark multi-spoke wheels provide the clearest changes from that angle. The approach makes sense for Lexus's second-best-selling model, which already occupies a useful space below the larger RX.

The Cabin Picks Up the New Lexus Look

Inside, an ES-derived steering wheel replaces the familiar emblem with a full LEXUS wordmark. Cleaner climate vents and revised controls surround a large central display that appears similar in size to the 14-inch touchscreen already offered in the NX. Red upholstery with chevron-pattern stitching adds another visible change in the teaser.

The Big Questions Wait for the Reveal

The current NX offers turbocharged gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains on Toyota's TNGA-K architecture. Lexus has not detailed what changes, if any, are coming beneath the refreshed body. The September 1 presentation should show whether this update goes beyond styling and cabin technology.
