Daggerheart Adds Its Darker Character Options

Hope & Fear introduces the witch, warlock, brawler, and assassin, with two subclasses for each. It also lets characters transform into vampires, werewolves, or ghosts, opening supernatural identities that can exist from character creation or emerge during a campaign.

Cards, Gear, and a New Domain Fill Out the Build

Because Daggerheart tracks character abilities with cards, the standard edition includes the cards needed for its new options. More species and the Dread domain expand character construction, while over 100 new items cover everything from caltrops and brass knuckles to magical robes and invisibility potions.

Bosses Can Have a Final Form

Game masters receive more than 130 adversaries spread across all four tiers of play. Evolution rules support multi-stage confrontations where winning one phase exposes the creature’s next form, bringing a videogame-like escalation to major tabletop battles.

Four Campaign Frames Change the Flavor

Castle High offers magical school drama; Reign of the Weredragon draws on fairy tales; Dark Heart of Andaluria mixes monster hunting and politics; and Journey to Horizon channels post-apocalyptic epic fantasy. That variety makes the expansion a menu of campaign directions, not just a stack of additional player options.
