Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy shifts the series from stealth-led survival into full action-adventure. Set fifteen years before Requiem, it follows Sophia as a young plunderer fleeing an army and pursuing the secrets of her past toward an island shaped by the myth of the Minotaur.

A Grappling Hook Changes the Chase

Sophia can jump and climb freely, use a grappling hook to reach heights of roughly ten meters, parry attacks, and strike back with far more aggression than Amicia. Chases that once followed tightly scripted routes now ask players to navigate with agility, search for their own path, and use the environment rather than wait for a marked climbing point.

The shift matches Sophia’s more active personality. Asobo is not treating this as A Plague Tale 3, but as a different journey capable of extending the Macula’s lore without undoing the finality of Requiem.

Minoan Echoes Reshape the Plague

The island blends a newly invented civilization with inspiration from the Minoan world. Players move between Sophia’s medieval era and ancient times, manipulate light with a stolen Minoan sphere, solve Daedalus’s puzzles, and face a presence that stalks the maze while past events reshape present battles.

Resonance arrives August 27 on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC, and Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. The painterly vistas, fog, grief, and heavy themes remain familiar—even as the way players survive them changes completely.
