Marcus and Dom at the Heart of E-Day

Gears of War: E-Day returns the spotlight to Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago, grounding its vision of Emergence Day in the brotherhood between two of the series’ defining soldiers. The game’s creative themes pair Marcus with brutality and Dom with pathos, balancing the franchise’s aggression with the loyalty, sacrifice, and loss that give its battles weight.

A Soundtrack Forged With Gibson Steel

Guitar-driven music has shaped Gears for nearly two decades, and composer Adam Lastiwka used Gibson instruments while recording E-Day’s score. That musical identity now extends into four hand-painted Gibson guitars created with artist Luke Preece, who helped establish the game’s visual language from the beginning.

Marcus’ Les Paul surrounds a weathered skull and COG Tag with chainsaw blades, Locust blood, and fractured textures. Dom’s Gibson SG takes a more mournful direction, using barbed wire, crimson poppies, wings, and imagery tied to Maria to express the emotional cost behind his loyalty.

Emergence Day Across Xbox and PC

The custom guitars are collectibles rather than game editions, but their contrasting designs offer a sharp preview of the story E-Day wants to tell: violence on one side, grief on the other, and Marcus and Dom bound between them.

Gears of War: E-Day launches October 6 on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC, and Steam. It will also be available on day one through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
