PRECOGNITION is a science-fiction horror thriller about prescience, time travel, and the consequences of interfering with time’s natural flow. The project was first teased as Project C and comes from Half Mermaid Productions, the studio behind story-driven mysteries built for players who inspect every fragment.

Two Distinct Horror Minds Collide

Sam Barlow, creator of Her Story, Telling Lies, and Immortality, is developing the game with filmmaker Brandon Cronenberg. That pairing puts Barlow’s layered, detail-dependent storytelling alongside a director known for unsettling science fiction and bodily unease.

The exact shape of its mystery remains hidden, but close observation is already central to the pitch. PRECOGNITION sounds built for the kind of player who pauses, cross-references, and treats a stray visual or line of dialogue as a possible key rather than background noise.

It launches in spring 2028 for Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. Xbox Play Anywhere support means the same purchase and progress can travel between both platforms while players try to untangle whatever horrors its timeline is concealing.
