Star Trek: Shadow Frontier places former lieutenant Ro Laren at the center of a mature psychological thriller, with Michelle Forbes returning to voice the Bajoran officer. After answering a distress call, Ro crash-lands on an uncharted planet and finds a graveyard of ruined starships where the surface itself seems corrupted.

The Planet Wants Her Mind, Too

Survival means facing twisted creatures, a hostile ecosystem, and an alien entity that threatens both Ro's body and her grip on reality. The deeper she explores, the more her memories distort, turning the mission into a confrontation with the guilt and unresolved pieces of her own past.

A Tricorder Beside the Phaser

Developer Bloober Team is blending exploration, puzzles, combat, and cinematic sequences rather than building a straightforward shooter. Ro can analyze objects with a tricorder and use her phaser against enemies or environmental problems, preserving some of Star Trek's investigative spirit inside the darker format.

Bloober Team Crosses a New Frontier

The studio behind Silent Hill 2 and Cronos: The New Dawn is working with Paramount Games on the project. Shadow Frontier is planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For a franchise usually drawn toward clean bridges and hopeful discoveries, a ship graveyard seen through Ro's fractured perspective is a sharp, promising change of atmosphere.
