The E-Ray’s Hybrid Idea Comes Back Sharper
Corvette Grand Sport X reworks Chevrolet’s hybrid system into a more aggressive, track-minded car. Where E-Ray mixed speed with grand-touring comfort, revised software and drive modes make the new model feel livelier without throwing away everyday usability.
A New V8 and Stronger Front Motor Make 721 Horsepower
The naturally aspirated 6.7-liter LS6 adds 40 horsepower and 50 pound-feet over E-Ray’s engine, while the front motor gains 26 horsepower. Together they produce 66 more horsepower and 70 additional pound-feet than the outgoing hybrid.
Code Changes Hardware That Barely Changed
Adaptive suspension, stability control, and the electronic differential receive new calibration, using predictive control to make the front electric axle help pull the nose through a corner. Springs, bars, and dampers could retain the same part numbers because software delivered the sharper response.
Grand Sport Hardware Supports the Track Mission
Carbon-ceramic brakes, Magnetic Ride Control, a widebody shape, and optional carbon-fiber wheels borrow from more extreme Corvettes. Starting at $112,195, Grand Sport X proves the hybrid can be exciting—but asks a steep price for the software intelligence that unlocks its familiar hardware.
