Ram Finds Its Way Back Into City Vans

The 2027 ProMaster City gives Ram an affordable commercial van again, though the name now belongs to a larger machine than before. This new model measures 210 inches long and offers 167 cubic feet of cargo room, putting it closer to midsize work vans than the compact ProMaster City that left the market.

A Small Turbo Engine With a Useful Job

Power comes from a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder making 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. It drives the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic, and Ram rates both payload and towing capacity at 2,000 pounds. The Tradesman Cargo starts at $39,995, while passenger-wagon and better-equipped SLT versions give small fleets more ways to configure it.

The Cab Is Ready for a Workday

Even the base van includes heated seats, a digital rearview mirror, a 10-inch gauge display, and a 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Moving to SLT adds front parking sensors, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, fog lights, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Built in Bursa, Turkey, the ProMaster City is expected to reach customers in the first quarter of 2027. For contractors and delivery crews priced out of larger vans, its combination of modern cabin gear and a sub-$40,000 starting point is the real attraction.
