An Electric Flagship With a Doorway Like No Other

The Genesis GV90 Neolun is a full-size luxury EV built around an extraordinary party trick: both doors can open independently while leaving no conventional B-pillar in the center. Genesis calls the system the Neolun Arch Gate, and the result is a vast, uninterrupted opening into the cabin.

The Rear Doors Slide Before They Swing

Each motorized rear door weighs roughly 154 pounds and uses a dual-motion hinge. It first moves outward and back to clear the front door, then swings open to nearly 90 degrees like a traditional coach door. Three layers of sealing keep weather, road noise and wind from sneaking through the unusually complex closure.

The Missing Pillar Is Hidden in the Structure

High-strength steel beams inside the doors replace much of the rigidity normally supplied by a fixed center pillar. Pins and latches tie the openings together, while a concealed roll cage uses a frame 1.5 times thicker than conventional vehicles along with steel tubing and structural foam to protect the passenger compartment.

The Cabin Can Turn Into a Lounge

Seatbelts mount to the front seats because there is no B-pillar to hold them, and those seats can swivel 180 degrees toward the rear passengers. Combined with the near-right-angle door openings, the layout makes the Neolun feel less like a familiar three-row SUV and more like a private room that happens to move.
