Hyundai's Electric Super-Sedan Is Still Coming West

The Ioniq 6 N is headed to U.S. dealers by the end of 2026, even as the regular Ioniq 6 has disappeared from the American lineup for the model year. Hyundai plans to offer the performance version in extremely limited quantities through selected dealers. That leaves the wildest version of the streamlined sedan carrying the name by itself.

Six Hundred Forty-One Horsepower With a Boost Button

Two motors provide all-wheel drive and make up to 641 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque when N Grin Boost is engaged. Hyundai quotes 0 to 60 mph in about 3.2 seconds. An 84-kWh battery supports the car's road and track duties, while N Battery and N Track Manager help drivers prepare and monitor it for sustained hard use.

Simulated Shifts Give the Speed Some Theater

N e-Shift uses the paddles and power delivery to mimic the rhythm of a combustion car changing gears. N Active Sound+ adds a synchronized soundtrack, giving drivers more feedback than the steady surge common to fast EVs. Those features are optional layers around a serious chassis, not substitutes for its speed. The U.S. arrival gives Hyundai an unusual performance flagship: a low electric sedan made for track sessions, sold in smaller numbers than the crossover-shaped Ioniq 5 N.
