Kia's Small EV Finally Has a U.S. Price
The EV3 brings Kia's boxy electric crossover design below $30,000 before destination. The Light front-wheel-drive model starts at $29,890 and uses a 58.3kWh battery for 221 miles of EPA range. Its single motor makes 201 horsepower, giving the entry version the same basic output as longer-range front-drive trims.
The 321-Mile Version Is the Real Road-Trip Pick
Wind, Land, and GT-Line models step up to an 81.4kWh pack. The Wind front-wheel-drive version reaches 321 miles, while buyers can also choose dual-motor all-wheel drive on higher trims for more traction at the cost of some range. U.S. models include a native NACS port, so compatible Tesla Superchargers do not require a separate adapter.
Mexican Production Helps the Value Story
Kia began building the EV3 at its Pesqueria plant in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, rather than importing it from Korea. That regional production supports a starting price close to the newly refreshed Niro Hybrid and roughly $10,000 below Kia's larger EV models. The EV3 is also based on Kia's dedicated 400-volt E-GMP architecture, keeping it a purpose-built EV despite its accessible position.
The EV3 is now on sale in the United States, with vehicles reaching dealers. The base car makes electric ownership cheaper, but the 81.4kWh version is the one that turns this small crossover into a credible long-distance option.
